read a Tom Sharpe novel." What kind of humour are they? Any similarity at all to the great Wodehouse? From the bit that I've heard of him I'm guessing not, but might give him a try.
Not like Wodehouse at all, different humour but funny never the less, My personal favourites are Wilt, Riotous Assembly and Indecent Exposure
