And because her daughter is with her father, she won't be able to see her on Christmas Day. Or until 29th of December in fact.
I can't even begin to tell you how she feels right now.
If you're not vaccinated it's probably best to stay out of my way.

Nobody has died but it's the next worst possible result for her and us.
I give up. I'm officially beaten.

Sorry to hear that mate. Similar boat chez Soze, but no little ones involved, so far less of clusterfuck than you are suffering.

That is really crappy, I am sorry and hope everyone gets better soon.

It’s effecting loads of people, my granddaughter tested positive on Sunday, (she’s fine and not ill ) so that’s plan A gone to the wall for Christmas Day, we have a plan B in place and hoping that doesn’t drop off the covid cliff as well.

No plan C, unless Boris invites us to one of his parties

Sorry to hear guys - the whole thing is utterly awful

Littlest OFD came back from Uni and quickly tested positive on return - second time he has caught it - so we have put off both sets of octogenarian parents and ageing aunt from visiting for Christmas, plus other family members who were coming for Boxing Day - the same cancelled plans as last year

Whilst Littlest should be clear tomorrow, OFD Junior's partner has just tested positive (having been safely away with the F1 circus all year, you really couldn't make it up!) so we expect one offspring to come out of isolation and hand the baton to the other as she starts - whilst Mrs OFD and Me try and avoid any infection - at least we have lots of cheese and wine in

Stay safe everyone!

We're supposed to be going to my sister-in-law's for Christmas Eve, however my son has just told us that one of his cousins has just tested positive.

My wife has only seen her sister once since the first lockdown, and that was in our garden back in last March. Absolutely a massive pain in the arse.

Getting vaguely back to something that was mentioned earlier in this thread.

We went to the theater last night, and you had to show a covid pass to gain entry. It went remarkably smoothly when you consider that it was almost sold out. You were told to have it ready to show before you got to the head of the queue. The fella' scanned it, and in you went. No problem. There was a family ahead of us which didn't know that they needed one. All they did was download the NHS app, and five minutes later they were in. Easy.

Masks were almost universally worn, with the usual notable exceptions on the sort of morons that seem to make it a badge of pride not to wear one, but fuck them.

The panto' wasn't very good. Oh yes it was. No really, it wasn't.

We may have had our disagreements over this, but I'm genuinely sorry to hear this. Get well soon.

And I'll just add this last thought. The theater district was like a post apocalyptic wasteland. There was almost no one there. All of the restaurants were almost empty. The majority had one or two occupied tables. Another was closing as we walked back to the car. I'm guessing it was around 9pm. There's no need for a government enforced lockdown, most folk are doing it by themselves. If this continues I dread to thing how they'll survive.

I hate to disagree with you, but if you insist on yank spellings, I may have to refuse you entry to Lewington’s …it’s not personal you understand..
