I watched an absolutely beautiful show on BBC 4 the other night about The Great Wall of China.

Shot from above, they flew the entire length of the wall. Stopping at sites of interest. No commentary, just on screen descriptions of what you were seeing. And it really was beautifully shot. Amazing in HD.

Inside Europe: 10 Years of Turmoil

Part 2 of 3 just now. Part 1 last week was Brexit. Tonight is the Euro crisis.

It's a really excellent show, with interviews with most of the key players of the time. Frank and insightful. And shocking. And scary.

Democracy is an amusing little puppet show, put on to keep us plebs calm and pliable. :)
This.

After Life on Netfix.

New Ricky Gervais series. Really am not a huge fan of him, but there is an intriguing melancholy and comedy combination about this one that is worth at least watching the first 25 minute episode to see if you'd like to watch more.

Showbands: How Ireland Learned to Party, presented by Ardal O'Hanlon.

When I was a kid, we owned records by Dickie Rock and the Miami Showband, so watching this made me very sentimental about my mum and dad. And then they went in to the detail of how the UDF murdered the Miami (sans Dickie, who had left and had been replaced) in the mid-70s. Chilling.

After today's awful news from NZ, it just seems hatred of 'the other' just never goes away... So, a lightweight and throwaway look at a cheesy cultural phenomenon in Ireland has made me both weep for my parents and for humanity in general. Fuck sake.

The Victim just finished recently. That was very well done I thought.

We recently watched Race Across The World on BBC

I was lukewarm watching the trailers, but really got caught up in this once it started. Amazing travelogue showcasing some fascinating and well out of the way places, beautifully shot to boot. If its still on iPlayer well worth a look, only six episodes

Anyone else watching Chernobyl on Sky Atlantic?

What a show, now Game of Thrones has ended this is surely the best show on telly at the moment.

Also enjoyed the first episode of The Ranganation on BBC 2.
