What the title says. If there are enough responses, I might even create a poll of the options posted here. Or I might not. I'm a lazy sod, to quote Mr Lydon.

Ground rules:

1. Fairytale of New York is, of course, the greatest, so no point posting that. We're after Number 2 on down...
2. Schmaltz is good and is to be encouraged. Can't get enough at Christmas
3. Awful artists can redeem themselves at Christmas (Maria Carey, Shaking Stevens) - see Rule 2
4. Despite Rule 3, Boney M are vile and are The Anti-Christmas. If you post them, even as a joke, you need to pour yourself a fine glass of port, slide the old Webley service revolver out of the desk drawer, then step out into the shrubbery and Do The Right Thing

So, here's a quick braindump of some of the songs rocking around the Soze Christmas tree:

Wham - Last Christmas
Lonely This Christmas - Mud
Driving Home For Christmas - Chris Rea
Patapan/O Come, O Come Emmanuel - Mindy Gledhill
2000 Miles - The Pretenders
Blue Christmas - Elvis
Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - Darlene Love
Joy To The World - Sufjan Stevens

Over to you...

As much as I admire your musical tastes, apart from Joni Mitchell and Laughing Lenny who are both shit, you're wrong here. Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses is the greatest crimbo tune.

Bowie and Bing.

Everything else is just noise.

Both fine tunes. Top 20 probably.

Merry Xmas Everybody by The Dukes Of His takes some beating.

I like Fairytale of New York but it’s very over rated. Last Christmas is the best.

I was once epically broken up with, and "Fairytale" was the background track. So No. In my opinion NOT best crimbo song ever and just as I now steer clear of arses named Mark and Vauxhall Chevettes, I would rather not have Shane whatshisface in my ear...

The Power of Love. Frankie Goes to Hollywood. That's best ever. Nothing ever bad happened with that in the cassette deck...

Never trust a man in a Vauxhall Chevette...
