Justice League - I was very surprised. It wasn't brilliant, but it did the job and was a good 'revival' of sorts for DC. I went into it expecting to hate it, but I thoroughly enjoyed Jason Momoa as Aquaman and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed Ezra Miller's Flash considering I love the TV show.

Justice League - far better than I expected, but I'm still carrying baggage following Batman vs. Superman with the Bat as the villain of the piece. Much better dialogue and characterisation this time round, overall not a bad watch

Suburbicon - a bit like an American Inside Number 9. A beautifully ambiguous plot that leaves you to make assumptions and conclusions, but this won't be everyones cup of tea. Sumptuous 1950's visuals and some powerful social commentary, challenging watch at times but very enjoyable

'Suburbicon' - This hasn't reviewed well; but I quite enjoyed it. A bit of a black comedy written by the Coen Brothers and directed by George Clooney. Not likely to win any awards but I love how the situations start to spiral out of control. There's some satire regarding the civil rights attitudes of the era which I think could have been used with more quantity and detail; and to better effect. but otherwise a good flick 6.5/10

Stumbled across the original of 'Assault On Precinct 13'. (Mid/Late 70s)
Very good.
Once you've heard that soundtrack you never forget it...... 8-)

It's A Wonderful Life

Yes, you've all seen it a 100 times. It is great though, in it's own syrupy, sentimental way. Jimmy Stewart is excellent.

I'm a little surprised that it's still so popular Stateside, seeing as it's essentially a Socialist-leaning film. Mr Potter is a small-town Trump/Murdoch/Green.

Elf - part of the pre-Christmas build up in the Old Farm. What a zany mix between genuinely toenail curling and absolutely bust-a-gut laugh out loud stuff. Go Buddy go!

The Disaster Artist - slow first half but worth sticking with, very quirky and quite heart warming given it's a true story. Great effort from the Franco brothers, this isn't an easy watch per se, but certainly a rewarding one

Elf is one of the greatest films of all time. Saw it for the first time up at the snowdome - my, my daughter and a cinema full of mums and kids. We laughed like drains all the way through surrounded by general silence. One of the highlights of Christmas for me. And it’s got Zooey singing. Naked. What’s wrong with you man?

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Is it good? Yes. Is it action packed? Yes. Does it tug at your heart strings? Yes. Will I watch it again? Yes. Was it underwhelming? To me... yes.

It was enjoyable and had everything I’d want in a Star Wars film. Touched your heart at times and was general fun Star Warsy stuff. But without risking spoilers there were just s few bits I found underwhelming and a bit too different to Star Wars stuff of old so didn’t feel properly canonical? And one whole set piece was pretty uninspiring and boring hat went on for ages.
