This has been done in various forms on Dons forums over the years. Try this one :-

1) Three songs/pieces of music (singles not albums)

2) One book (not a collection)

3) One famous sportsperson (same gender as you)

4) One other non-sports 'famous person' (same gender as you)

5) One food (to be allowed three times a week)

6) One drink to be consumed up to a maximum of 20 units of alcohol a week.

Which/who/what would you choose?

Orson Welles RIP - what a raconteur!

5) One food (to be allowed three times a week)

1) Three songs/pieces of music (singles not albums)
Urg. at this precise second - Radiohead/Bloom, Fleetwood Mac/Albatross, Florence/Dog Days

2) One book (not a collection)
T E Lawrence - The Seven Pillars of Wisdom. (Not sure why I would want to read about the desert on a desert island, might regret that after a while)

3) One famous sportsperson (same gender as you)
Emil Zátopek - I will need a personal trainer, and he would be just the man - he can bring his own wine/beer and tell us all about his medals and the Prague Spring - I'm sure there is a new Dickens tale in there somewhere

4) One other non-sports 'famous person' (same gender as you)
Charles Dickens - imagine the stories he could tell, particularly after the weekly units had been drunk (plus if anyone could work out a way to get more units onto the island it would be him)

5) One food (to be allowed three times a week)
My own Spag Bol - a good job as I would have to cook it! Only if I can have parmesan though, or the deal is off and I want Hot Cross buns instead

6) One drink to be consumed up to a maximum of 20 units of alcohol a week.
So that's what - two bottles of red or seven and half pints of 5% brew? If I can have a fridge then I'm going for the beer, but if not then it will have to be a suitably nice red burgundy snuck away in one of the island's caves, to complement the Spag

:D

1) Three songs/pieces of music (singles not albums)
This one changes most often, so it's tough. I'm going to go with (1) Sympathy for the Devil by Rolling Stones, (2) Chiquitita by Abba, and (3) Brave New World by Iron Maiden.

2) One book (not a collection)
I've never been a big one on re-reading books, but I don't think I'd want to risk taking an unknown one that I might end up hating, so probably a survival textbook etc.

3) One famous sportsperson (same gender as you)
David Seaman. Absolute legend, seems like an interesting person when on TV, plus he can fish, which would be a useful skill.

4) One other non-sports 'famous person' (same gender as you)
Bear Grylls. For survivability.

5) One food (to be allowed three times a week)
Pizza. If I can be as unspecific as that and have different varities of pizza, then that would be a bonus, otherwise a Dominos Meteor, but with pineapple instead of bacon (because I'm a freak).

6) One drink to be consumed up to a maximum of 20 units of alcohol a week.
Squash. Not an alcohol man myself, but assuming I had access to drinking water, then some squash (probably oragne lemon and pineapple flavour if I had to get specific) would be great.

1) Three songs/pieces of music (singles not albums)

Start Me Up by The Stones. It's my favourite song.
Inbetween Days by The Cure. It's the current Mrs Gers favourite (old romantic that I am)
Anything by Motley Crue. I'd need something to remind me of how utterly appalling most people are. This would certainly do that.

2) One book (not a collection)

1984 by Orwell. Quite simply the greatest book ever written. I never get tired of reading it.

3) One famous sportsperson (same gender as you)

Colin Stein. Rangers' greatest ever forward.

4) One other non-sports 'famous person' (same gender as you)

Ivor Cutler. His jungle tips would come in handy.

5) One food (to be allowed three times a week)

The current Mrs Gers' spaghetti. It's wonderful.

6) One drink to be consumed up to a maximum of 20 units of alcohol a week.

Guinness
