Some fantastic stuff on this thread
This.

Everyone posting on here so far, has suggested at least one show that I'd have put into mine if there was room:
Blackadder
Father Ted
Heroes
Everything ever made by Jonathan Meades
Filthy, Rich and Catflap
Yes Minister/Prime Minister
Fawlty Towers
Police Squad
The Inbetweeners
This Is England
Captain Scarlet

I also couldn't fit in Boys From The Blackstuff, Band of Brothers, Monty Python's Flying Circus, The World At War, From The Earth To The Moon, The Avengers, The Day Today, Between The Lines, Spitting Image, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, TV Nation, A Very Peculiar Practice, The New Statesman, or The Shadow Line or Cracker or Our Friends In The North or pretty much anything ever made with Christopher Eccleston in, or Buy-gones/Up Your Arts/Inside Victor Lewis-Smith/TV Offal pretty much anything ever made by Victor Lewis-Smith.

All the other great shows that didn't make it into my personal top 10, is testament to just how good those that did, are, for me.

We all have different tastes, and not everything on here will be similarly loved by everyone, however, there are so many great TV show recommendations on here already, none of us should ever be short of good things to try out when there's nothing good on the telly :D

Most I thought of have been mentioned but I'll add Life on Mars and from my childhood the A-Team!

Rewatching The Shield at the moment and forgot how god damn good it is and would make my Top 10 alongside The Wire, Breaking Bad and The Sopranos. Also a massive fan of the Narcos, particularly when focused on Escobar. I'll always be a sucker for Friends, The Simpsons is an all time classic but I drift in and out of enjoying it these days and the first 4 or 5 seasons of the UK Shameless were absolutely brilliant. That's about 10, but the main thing is The Shield is brilliant.

I'd certainly add Succession to my list. And perhaps Better Call Saul

2 Ascent of Man.
3 Later Morecombe and Wise shows.
4 Any Michael Palin travelogue.
5 Any Joanna Lumley travelogue.
6 Any Sue Perkins travelogue.
7 Any Lucy Worsley history documentary.
8 Quiz shows in general so I can moan about how fixed they obviously are.

I rarely agree with you. But there are some good choices there.

I usually agree with you so I hope that Sue Perkins is not one of the good choices
