I was being deadly serious. The Beatles are horribly overrated. They were (and remain) hugely popular but their creativity, their quality and their overall importance has been hyped to the moon.

Overrated by whom ? The hundreds of millions of fans they have had all these years from all over the World ?

The Sun is the biggest selling newspaper in the UK. I guess it must be the highest quality then. :P
