It is easy to be cynical, but I thought that went really well. A juxtaposition of the traditional with the modern.

The diversity on show from the guests was a credit to the both of them, and a brilliant up yours to the small minded Mail, who've done nothing this week but have a pop at her and her family.

Prince Charles looked genuinely happy to walk her down the aisle, that was the highlight of the whole thing for me. It was so far removed from any other royal wedding I've seen, which at a rough guess is seven (I'm old) but the evangelical preacher had tears of laughter rolling down my face. The reactions from the guests was worth the licence fee alone.

I'm not particularly fond of them one way or the other, my father was mad keen on them. We had a portrait of the queen on our livingroom wall when I was a kid in the 60's, but I'm not ashamed to admit that I actually enjoyed it.

I genuinely hope that they have a long and happy marriage, with loads and loads of wee mixed-race kids.

Hear hear. This marriage could change everything.

Agreed. I would be so bold to suggest it has the potential to be something of a ‘game changer’. As a Dad, I have huge confidence that the next generation understand a global world and care passionately about what is ‘fair’. Just hope we have left them with enough resources, financial and otherwise, to be able to enjoy it.

Agree about the nest generation. They are much more tolerant and inclusive than ours.

There was a wedding? I was playing golf and missed it.

Bishop Michael Barry is guaranteed to be on the One Show on Monday.

All jokes aside, that was an incredible oration. I had the telly on in the background and he had me sat down and taking notice.
