Bit quiet on here this afternoon. Would suggest you all stop sniffing your figures and post something half-interesting.

You will recall I mentioned yesterday about posting a daily educational fact to broaden your horizons:

Whenever possible cook from fresh. Supermarkets are awash with highly processed foods, most of which have little or no nutritional value. Humans in their current form have been around for 200,000 and simply weren't designed to eat and drink most of the rubbish contained in the western diet. The thought of other animals being fed an unnatural processed diet doesn't sit well with most people. WE are animals, yet most of us live off foods that have no place in human evolution, which is why type 2 diabetes and autoimmune diseases are rocketing. This can lead to chronic illnesses. Lord Doog.

I thought high consumption of simple carbs was to blame. After all ice is processed water but it isn't harmful to you in small quantities (in larger quantities it sunk the Titanic).

There's all sorts of issues with all kinds of non-organic foods and beverages (including tap water), pesticides, antibiotics, leaching of plastics. Not to mention the use of good foods used wrongly - extra virgin oil when heated changes into an unhealthy substance. Then there's personal care products, full of hormone changing chemicals and laundry forming agents rife in toothpaste, shampoo etc. We are now surrounded by harmful chemicals, which collectively are causing chronic health problems. Even teabags have a thin plastic film on them. Add boiling water - WTF. That's the western world for you. Worse thing is it's so widespread it would be too costly and governments don't have the will be force change. They'd rather just continue spending money on dealing with the consequences.

Teabags? How common. Don't you use loose tea?

The vegan lifestyle is the most sustainable lifestyle.

Wouldn't touch a plastic coated teabag with yours.

If done properly. Hard to ensure having chain amino acids required for cell replacement on vegan diet.
