Sheyi Oji dislocated his shoulder playing for Fulham on Friday night.

Shame as he's playing regularly and having an impact in most games.

In Tombit this should be a thread of its own, titled Sheyi Oji. Reported.

:D

Been chatting with a Wigan fan I know this morning and he was saying how he still thinks he was the worst player he's seen at Wigan since their Dave Whelan era of wealth started (in the 90's). It sounds like it was more a matter of circumstances: he was on loan there during a relegation battle in the championship a couple of years ago and apparently he was always trying fancy flicks and tricks that just didn't come off at all and so contributed nothing in a defensive team battling for their life. Apparently he's rated very poorly there.
However he seems to be doing a lot better at Fulham in a more attacking formation.
He reminds me of Wilfried Zaha: maybe too individualistic - and not quite good enough? - to make it at a very big club, but a lively threat when given the freedom at a slightly lower level.

Sometimes the right club suits the right person. I’m not having that players like Aaron Tshibola, Paul Downing, Welsh George Williams etc are bad players. We just might not be the club for them given the other players we have. Sometimes the players around the player in question aren’t suited to each other’s game. And that’s fine.

Yeah, I agree with all that. They obviously didn't see the best of him for whatever reason but he's clearly a decent player. If we were in the championship  I'd certainly like us to get him on loan.

True. The style of management and play also have big effects.

Big fan of Sheyi Oji, probably our most successful academy graduate after Dele Alo

I’d say Sam Baldock would find that offensive.
