Good luck to him. He deserves to do well. But... Watford? They've been a train wreck for a few years. Have they settled now?

That doesn't give me a good feeling about the strategic thinking at Man Yoo...

There's been so many depressing examples like that over the last few years. :(
I'm hoping things are improving with a lot of changes in personnel. But this seems an unnecessary gamble. Still, it might work out OK and he gets to showcase his obvious ability. *fingers crossed*

Unlike my normal stance on every thing in life, I'm terminally depressed about MUFC's future. Maybe in 30 years time...

Yeah, I agree that a loan to Watford seems a gamble.
They took James Garner on loan a couple of seasons ago, soon sacked their manager (as usual) and he struggled for games after that until the loan was cut short and he's had a very good 18 months on loan at Forest instead.
Laird did so well with us and at Swansea. Then the Bournemouth loan was a step backwards. This was a big choice this season - keep him in the first team squad, loan him to the PL, or to a top championship club where he'll get games. They've opted for the 3rd choice, but Watford seems a big gamble to choose with their habit of sacking managers.

I thought it was a great move when you first posted this. The new Watford boss likes a wing back and Kane Wilson thrived under him last season. But Watford already a have a fast attacking RB in Ngakia and on Friday they signed a veteran RB from Spain. I assume one of them must be shifting to LB or RCB or this move seems odd

The move to Watford broke down for whatever reason.
Laird has today joined QPR on loan for the season.

They will love him there. :)

A goal, assist and now back to back clean sheets for Laird at QPR

Struggling apparently, in a struggling Birmingham City side. He might be playing us in L1 next season.

Away from their goal against Leicester he looked the most likely to score judging from the highlights with a close left footed effort.

It's weird because I'm 99% certain a lot of Blues fans I follow were singing his praises when they were 'okay' at the start under Eustace. Maybe he's fallen off individually as badly as they have collectively.
