Pete will not entertain having Martin Allen back at the club, after the last time. Too many issues !

So what's the beef with Martin Allen? Genuine question, I wasn't a Dons supporter back then. His win rate over his managerial career is exceptional, especially during his tenure at MK Dons.

Martin Allen was exactly what we needed at the time he took over, and he oversaw a complete turnaround of the club from one resigned to failure to one that expected success. In terms of ripping things up and starting again, he’s one of the best there is. What we saw with him was that he didn’t have anything else, and when we needed stability and to build on what he’d created to push us for promotion, he reverted to safety and started ripping things apart again and it cost us promotion.

Great at the time - no need to go back there.

Plus he played some really shit football,

Big fan of this press release announcing the signing of Curtis Weston...

Two 1-0 defeats in 3 days means Chesterfield are currently 17th in the National League.
3 years ago they were in the League One play-off semi-final.
They were one of the favourites to go back up so they should soon move higher up the league at the very least, but a poor start for Allen after 9 games.

It’s worse than that, they’ve lost the last six after winning the first three.

Just shows how a badly run club at this level can truly drop. I would never have imagined that our most frustrating opponents when we went up would be looking likely to drop down to the Vanarama National regional divisions in 4 years.

Chesterfield still haven't won in the league since mid-August, a run so far of 16 games. Although they're drawing enough games that they're still out of the relegation places on goal difference.
Yesterday, they were 1-0 up away to 4th place Harrogate before conceding a 97th minute equaliser.
However they have got through to the 1st round of the FA Cup, and have a winnable game at home to National League South leaders Billericay.

Aren’t Billericay the team with a few ex-pros like Pennant?
