We havent had a worst 1st choice gk whichever one starts. Id argue wieger sietsma rivals them for worst, ian mcloughlin quickly dissapeared out of the game snd that american keeper! Weve had some shitters. But this is by far the shittest collective gk union weve had.

Is it possible that there is an agreement with Villa that Marschall has to play a certain number of games? I genuinely cannot think of another reason for playing him today (unless Kelly is nursing a minor injury).
And surely put Harvie as wing back and bring Lewie back into defence? Still, what do I know?

It's certainly a realistic possibility, yeah. As those clauses definitely get included into plenty of loan deals. And there's also the less 'official' scenario of teams getting good and bad reputations / relationships with other clubs, based on how well they handle and progress loan players. So I'm sure there's times where that plays into the thinking of whether to start with a loan player or one of your own. And this very much feels like.one of those times, as it's hard to find a valid footballing reason for the selection.
