But for all our beautiful midfield play, both our goals came from very simple direct attacks

Most of our possession now is in midfield, unlike our previous two managers when it was nearly all in our own penalty area. That's the main difference.

It's true, but also Man City's first two goals came from corners last night. The beautiful play may not lead to goals but can tire the teams out, distract them and build confidence for ourselves.

Very good, an unbiased, sensible response from a fan base who know football, I’d like to add I thought they were a decent side as well, made a very good game to watch, the return leg in April should be a cracker with the end of season in sight, it might be another crucial clash with the Stags

The worry is that they’ll have learnt from their mistakes, pack the midfield and not allow us a second on the ball in there. The stakes will be high and like another team we’d recently “schooled” they won’t be letting it happen again.

Bradford the same too

Its interesting because how they talk about us is pretty much how I thought about them. They are a good side with some very good players. It was an easy game to watch for a neutral and thats always a good sign.

They are the best team in this league and probably better than us at the moment. With regards to how they approach the home fixture, I truly hope they do pack the midfield. That would mean them changing the way they play which hopefully makes them a bit disjointed. We can choose to play that however we want and that should hopefully create opportunities for us.

all in all a bit of mutual respect on show and for us thats a rare compliment.
