Well that is the sort of game that triggers a managerial sacking. Manager getting booked, and laughing at the fans' "you are shit" chants, and losing to a bizarre and comedic own goal.

I will remember that game for a long time.

What a match, thoroughly enjoyable and great atmosphere. Only 30 seconds to get served a pint of Guinness at one of 16 serving points too. That's how it is at Northampton Saints these days. How was it for you guys?

Seems that what was going on in the stands was more entertaining that on the pitch.

A strange game.

I thought we were excellent in the first 20 minutes. They hardly touched the ball and we played some nice stuff and created some good chances. In particular Payne, MJW, Harvie and Eisa played well and Harrison was winning battles up there as well:

Harrogate then walked through our defence twice and missed two sitters:

Then we concede that clown own goal

Then that was that. The whole game after that was a just some men running around booting a ball occasionally.

One of the strangest games I have seen

What can you say that hasn’t already been said over and over again in the last few weeks?

The only difference today was the comical own goal, which had all the hallmarks of a classic Tom & Jerry cartoon, McGiveaway and O’Gawd provide the slapstick by being totally unaware of what each other were doing, realising that pesky striker was lurking, McGiveaway slams the ball into O’Gawd and rebounds slowly into an unguarded goal, cue howls of laughter from the 3,000 or so at todays pantomime.
