Barely worth bothering with this week folks.....

Quote:
Noteable improvements, peticuarly not collapsing after conceding even after some sustained pressure. More football and less hopeful hoofs. They are a good side so we have a good point. Though because of the position we are in, still a disappointing result.

We could have nicked it. Keep working guys, shades of hope today, keep working hard and we shall see.

Quote:
Much better defence today. When A MK Don tried from inside his own half to lob Deano, the away fans chanted 'We've had a shot!' Fair comment because other than that, they hadn't. Going forward U's hit far too many balls long and in the air again, until Eastmond came on. Then we got some incisive passing on the deck. Like others I was baffled by their goal - the scorer did not seem to be aiming where the shot went.

Feel for Sutton a bit - this isn't a dig at all because they are what they are. A small London club with many bigger clubs not far away. I don't think their fans will argue that too much.

There were plenty of young people with their shirt on around the ground which is great. Supporting their local side when, as previously mentioned, there are more "appealing" options elsewhere. But it really did have a feel of a lot of people there weren't watching their main team, just a place to go to on a Saturday afternoon when they aren't watching their "main" side. I could be totally wrong - just a vibe.
And it's a vibe we often have thrown at us too, so it's certainly not a dig. I loved their ground. The staff were friendly, the steward were good and the view was good from the terrace. It was a real throwback. And a ground I'd love to visit again.

I reckon we will too, just about. Hence the quip.
