God knows what the thinking was to put this up online? Surely it happens now and again to every club and you just keep schtum and move on. Surely a “we were close to one, but it fell though” statement on their OS would have sufficed? I can only conclude that such was their righteous indignation at being wronged by said player* that they thought they’d put it out there to try and shame him. Well, guess what? It’s only served to make you look like the petty, tinpot operation run by egocentric buffoons that we all know you were.

* - it was Freddy Lapado who later signed for Southend from Palace..

I'm more shocked to hear that other teams give players medicals before they sign them. Does that mean if they're injured the clubs don't buy them? What a revolutionary idea. We should try that. ;)
