If the league table was based on Expected Goals alone, only AFC and Bolton would be below us.....

We’re doomed.

In a league table based on things that didn’t happen, we would be near the bottom.

Am I alone in not understanding the expected goals thing? I understand what it’s doing, but I don’t understand why.

I’m in the same boat, all I can tell you is that we are expected to concede goals, just after halftime or in the final few minutes......but hell I don’t need a graph to tell me that.

I expect us to concede goals at any time in the 90 minutes, so far I’ve rarely been wrong! :(

I enjoy stats and love the fact that you can now know that Bowery has one only one aerial dual so far this season out of the 29 he has challenged for; that Agard has only had 4 successful dribbles in the league so far out of 35 attempted (no idea what they class as a dribble, but that's what it says...) and that Marcus Maddison has the longest average distance away per goal scored in the last 3 seasons (minimum 6 goals, he's averaging 21.4 metres per goal- shows what happens if you shoot...) our furthest is Alex Gilbey with 11.7 metres per goal.
