But thats how its been for the last few games and it hasn't worked. Lewington actually gets far further forward than Williams.

Lewington's positional qualities make his lack of speed less of an issue. Yes he gets beaten from time to time, but don't you think Williams and Brittian do as well?

But Williams had his best game at right back. He was amazing yesterday.

This.

Lewie was great yesterday. He is not quick but is strong and smart and you could tell that the other players benefit from him being on the pitch. At some points he was playing a sweeper role and at other times he was up front! Put in a great shift and we really missed him once he went off.

Him and a returned / rejuvenated Tilney will be LB sorted for me for the remainder of the season.

I strongly suspect the previous regime* did not allow him the freedom to attack. I think under Dan we will see the Williams of last season return.

Having Williams and Lewie at there best is nearly like having two new signings.

*all sorts of unproven (but possibly true) rumours about how disfunctional the previous leadership style was were ciculating yesterday.

Anyone else worried about Lewie being left as last man when we have corners? He did well with it yesterday given his lack of pace but it looks really vulnerable if a fast counter attack comes along.

Yep and we didn't cope with a number of quick counter attacks very well.

AND Lewie is useful at corners, so a double negative.
I'd rather we had a quicker player at the back....
