Unfortunately FA Cup games aren't on iPlayer, so for those that went, how did Lewington play?

Does it look like Neilson was right to drop him completely or does he still looking good enough for a starting place? I appreciate its only been one game.

He looked pretty good actually, made one really good recovering challenge when the rest of the defence was beaten and look assured throughout, the only problem appeared to be lack of match fitness.

He had a good game the, when he went off I wondered if it might be a game changer and it was.

He was probably our best player IMO yesterday. RN was not right to drop him for footballing ability on that showing.
There was one point in the first half that he was actually the furthest player forward. Maybe he couldn’t get back but more likely the benefits of a new system. The recovery tackle showed that it isn’t all about pace and he made some decent blocks to stop counter attacks when being the last man.
Let’s hope he can keep it up

Best player.

Solid, reliable and the defence knew what they were doing.

There is NO comparison when you look at Cisse, EEL and Wootton.

Start him every week.

This.

He's slow. We know that. He's ALWAYS been slow. He'd have played at a higher level than us if he was quick. So play to his strengths and use the team to cover for his lack of speed. He has many strengths and they were on display yesterday - he reads the game, he makes surgical tackles, he wins headers, he gives confidence and organisation to the back line. Plus he gets forward and puts good balls in the box. What more can you reasonably ask for?

I wonder where we'd be in the table if he'd have played all season.

Personally I'd rather we played Williams at left back and Brittain at right back, because all of will take is a quick and skilful winger to roast Lewie. It's only a matter of time.

I'm willing to give Lewie time and a chance because of his strengths, but that should have happened when he went off.

No. Just no. I am not anti Lewis but he is not fit to start every week. Plus sitting on the half way line and then slowly jogging back doesn't bode well. He had one good game. Please don't wank yourself into a fury cause of one game.
