I dont get how anyone could return tickets whilst potentially foregoing what could be one of the best nights in the history of the club. Whilst im pissed off at the performance the other night as well as the result and whilst im realistic enough to not get my hopes exceeded or any sort of expectation i still wouldnt return tickets for 25 fucking quid, what am am i gonna do with that? Spend more per day food shopping than that these says it certainly wont go far.

I dont stop playing the lottery weekly despite never winning because if my numbers do come out id be a fool to have quibbled over a couple of quid. Same with the football, ill be as pissed off as anyone if its a shit game but ill get over it and keep coming back because ultimately these moments dont come around often and if we somehow do the unthinkable i wanna be able to rememeber i was there, not sat at home or out for an expensive evening elsewhere which i can do any other night. We likely wont get this opportunity again to make a historical night so i certainly dont give a shit about the cost id already decided i could afford for tickets and anything else i could be doing that night whilst checking livescores.

You sound like someone who is comfortable with his money and how he spends it. Good for you.

Not everyone is in that same boat.

This. Daily trips to Crawley don't fund themselves.

Because I'm busy Saturday evening, and have been since January.

I can think of many many many other things to spend my hard earned money on than sitting in a stadium watching a bunch of tossers who didn't ever try last Tuesday giving money to a club that would rather have nobody there and have no will to ever care about us. Just cause you are minted and can afford to waste money on people that dont care about you doesn't mean everyone else does. That coupled with it being a rearranged game people can't just drop everything for a stupid football game. Especially when some had to drop everything once this week to get back to Crawley. It's bizarre that those words have been been typed

Im not sure about the first part of the post. The players tried but just werent very good on the night. Some part of that was within themselves and some part due to the tactics we employed.

I agree more with the second part. But its not a new situation. I feel the club have been this way with regards to the fans since at least last season and yet season tickets were renewed. The recency bias makes it feel a bit more acute just now but nothings really changed.

In terms of what people spend their money on, hard earned or otherwise, relatively significant sums or not is up to them. I doubt that the vast majority of things I spend my money on would be of great value to most and vice versa. I decide if I can afford something or not and make decisions accordingly. Thats it. Its no more complex than that. Watching a team isnt compulsory and those that purchased tickets to the Crawley game did so actively and made their own financial choices, the same goes for those going to the game on Saturday. If you go to the cinema and dont enjoy the film, do you ask for your money back?

Doncaster game looks like they've filled the stadium. Well, the TV Arc makes it look like that anyway

Where do you begin with this ?

Let’s start at the finish - the plus side was that we were all together to scream ‘ shit’ to the boom of the drum beat, so at least we had that

So from my personal experience here is how it went.

1. Unable to sit in my season ticket seats with my family in club red. So you lose that connection with the group around you.
2. Of course, the upper classes in the tier above our usual seats were not moved. They looked very comfortable in their club whatever the fuck it is now.
3. We arrived nice and early to get into the stadium, in the upper tier above the cowshed. Somewhere I have never sat. Got there and lots of fans milling around the concourse saying they were unable to get to their seats. Fearing the worst I went and indeed 2 of the 3 seats we had booked were covered in netting.
4. We were told to wait in the Concorse for a supervisor. 20 mins later still waiting as the clock rumbled towards kick off. The netting was held down by cable ties so couldn’t be freed by hand.
5. It is now kick off and still the netting remains on the seats. At this point I levered the net over a seat and managed to sit there. As more and more fans poured in unable to sit in their seats it was chaos. Mixed messages from stewards about what to do - carry on waiting, go to the upper tier corner , no one knew what to do
6. Some comedy moments. My favourite was an entire family crawling commando style under the netting to access a non netted part of the stadium.

The entire thing was a farce, a truly dreadful idea executed terribly and made a shambolic night on the pitch even worse. It was complete amateur hour.
