Another thought. The only player we have in the team similar to Tomlinson, in probably Gilbey. Gilbey has to pace to take on his man, similar to what Tomlinson offers but just lacks in the 2 footed department.

Gilbey is definitely a better option at LWB than Wearne though, surely?.

If this is correct then its a big loss in two regards. Firstly hes a good player but also perhaps the only one who fits naturally into that position in the squad.

Secondly, I think it really affects our entire defensive line.

The other thing we lose is the focus of our attack-minded play. Most of our threats start down that side. Normal-lofthouse are fine but too often end up passing backwards. Williams-lofthouse is even worse, it almost always goes back to Ohora.

We can't lose Gilbey in the middle of the pitch. Now Tucker is back, I think he will stick Harvie out at LWB. Heck we might even see a few Lewie cameos, whilst Tucker builds up his match fitness.

Wearne looks very uncomfortable at LWB. Not quite a big a cock up as Marschall but he's gotta learn from that one as well.

Still not convinced we won't see Tomo playing at some point this season. Too many on here spend their time nicking in Claire's Accessories and Super Drug, then jump on their computers spouting this and that.

Williamson has used Wearne at LWB twice now and in the latest version kept it that way for the entire match. He alluded to bad decisions he had made but we dont really know if that related to Wearne or Marschall or something else.

I fear its the latter, in a couple of days we will know.

So it looks like Tommo is training and not out for the season.

Yeah, saw that. Still, a four page panic though, so fair play.

One option as left wing back not mentioned so far is Ilunga. I’d have said no chance a few weeks back but he made the Walsall squad, so is obviously still part of things in MW’s eyes.

Yup, looks like it's fake news. Toby Lock saying Tomlinson could be in the squad for Saturday.

Edit: Having read the article, maybe it wasn't fake news, as it was first feared he would be out for the season. Good to hear that isn't the case.
