I'd prefer to be away first, as at least we then know exactly what we have to do at home - which, hopefully, may turn out to be not as big a recovery as we fear. Whereas playing at home first, aware of our away struggles, puts huge pressure on us looking to take a big lead to the away leg.

That worked so well for us two years ago.

I didn't say it was a foolproof system. :)
It's just how best to deal with our poor away form - so neither option is ideal as they both involve us having to play an away leg at some point, unfortunately.

Just why we are so shit away from home, is an enigma MW has failed to address, that’s why we are in the play offs rather than autos, yes he’s done a great job to get us here, but it could have been even better

We are not shit away we are just really good at home. Last time I looked we were top of home form and 13th for away form.

We are wank then. 13th is abysmal.

Just as a philosophical question....is (a) 'wank' bad?

Agreed....easier to climb a hill when you know big it is....also helps selection

Its not really an enigma - we likely wouldn't even be having this discussion if he didn't change keeper and we're reflecting on an important 3-1 or 3-2 away win against a good Notts County side, full of confidence ahead of an away trip to conference-bound FGR.

Our away form under Williamson (14 points from a possible 45) is worse than our away form under Alexander (11 points from 24).

It really is an enigma how he has improved us so much at home but made us worse away from home.

As much as I like Bate and Payne in midfield, maybe away from home we need more of an enforcer type player in there.

Nah, it's Tucker's fault.

Like I said. We will be fine. Monday was a massive overreaction.
