The news: Soccer teams are always looking to get an edge over their rivals. They might want to add a new AI assistant developed by Google DeepMind to their arsenal. It can suggest tactics for soccer set-pieces that are even better than those created by professional club coaches.

How it works: The system, called TacticAI, works by analyzing a dataset of 7,176 corner kicks taken by players for Liverpool FC, one of the biggest soccer clubs in the world. It uses predictive and generative AI models to analyze each scenario and produce recommendations and predictive outcomes. “

Everyone has access to that. Going forward, the rich clubs will get the best algorithms and we'll get the rubbish public access stuff.

You do realize of course that AI is just a new fangled buzz concept, designed to impress the gullible masses. All these so called 'intelligent' software schemes are programmer generated and are merely applying logic routines designed by human programmers, not any magic of computer operating systems.

Computers do not think, merely carry out instructions.

Some people working in AI hate the term AI as it's misleading. However, you are underestimating the power of machine learning. From wiki: "Machine learning (ML) is a field of study in artificial intelligence concerned with the development and study of statistical algorithms that can learn from data and generalize to unseen data, and thus perform tasks without explicit instructions."
