Apparently red bull are only allowed to have 1 club compete in the champions league.

With leipzig doing so well could we ever realistically be a good fit with red bull, knowing itd mean we would be placed under a glass ceiling?

I know any talk of being a champions league team is way, way off but could you truly want to go into partnership with red bull knowing the implications?

Red Bull Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg are both playing in the last eight of the Europa League tonight.
And both started this season in the CL: Salzburg lost in qualifiers and dropped into Europa League early, while Leipzig finished 3rd in their CL group and dropped into Europa League at the knock-out stage.
So both Red Bull teams have been allowed to compete in both European competitions this season.
I don't know if that means the rules have changed.

Red Bull Leipzig?

Do you mean RasenBallsport Leipzig?

Seems a bit of a fudge to me but UEFA let It go because "no individual or legal entity had a decisive influence over more than one club". Or deciphered "money talks bullshit walks"

Just a thought but if (biggest, longest if ever) we were taken over by Red bull, the money received from us being in the premiership (which we would obviously need to achieve for this concern over European football to arise) would make us the favored club over anyone competing in a foreign league wouldn't it?

Red Bull is an Austrian company based in Salzburg.

I've just read the link that Allypally included and in it it says...

Uefa does not allow any two clubs competing in European competition to share the same owner.
In cases where that happens, priority is given to a team who are champions of their country, meaning that Leipzig would have missed out (as they finished 2nd in Germany while Salzburg won the Austrian league).

So that would be the first deciding factor.
Of course if more than one won the league, or none of them, then I suppose it would be up to Red Bull.

Do Red Bull actually own both clubs? Or just sponsors (to one or both)?
