The biggest shame is that he has bags of potential and was very good in the few games he featured. Was expecting big things this season, with quite a few of us expecting him to become a regular. Fortunately for us Brittain has stepped up and every bit as effective as Tilney.

Good luck to him whatever he does, I would happily see him back here if its what he decides he wants.

Agreed, and for a pittance of probably in the region of £100k, having to stay in nice hotels with the best food available. Who would want that...erm me!

I like the fact RM has set up a very competitive regime. As Ben says, if you do not put in a good training shift, you have "no chance" of being selected for the next match.

I like that approach. If we get beat by a better team on the day but know everyone has given their all, then fair enough. But if we get beat because some of the players are not 100%, then not good enough in my books.

Do any of us turn up at work every single day, including xmas day? Does that mean we are not committed and have no drive?
I admire Ben for having the maturity to make an informed choice about his future.

Well, don't forget that footballers don't train for eight hours a day like many of us work in our jobs.

Also, when I were an athlete (mostly cross country, crap obviously), I trained six days a week. Not only to get better, but you need it just to maintain competitiveness. The stopwatch is a harsh but honest judge. Football is far more difficult to measure but, if you aren't putting it in, it starts to show when you are up against those who are.

My training included Christmas day, which I actually enjoyed more than any other.
