Sacked by York City today.

I apologise for when we had Graham Alexander and I said we could do worse than someone like Ardley.
But, we did have Graham Alexander...

IIRC he wasn't 'ultra' regarding us was he?
He had to make the right noises for obvious reasons but I vaguely remember some conciliatory comment that he was pilloried for.
Could be wrong.

The Toot(ings) were peed off when Ardley warmly greeted Robbo the Robster before a Whine Derby.

My memory says you are right. He was slagged off for not saying bad things about us.

Now I come to recall it....wasn't he once an WFC player and said something like 'it was a sensible thing to move up here'?

(And, on a different issue Nigel Reo-Coker signed for us temporarily some years ago. Another thing airbrushed from history a la pictures of Stalin with Trotsky standing next to him).

Never had anything against Ardley, think as far as the first meeting(s) between the club he was the most sensible one
