Used to much higher wages than we could pay, of course, having been a solid Championship scorer over the years. But 36 now, and been a free agent for a while, I wonder what level (and wage) he'd consider worthwhile?

The other issue is that a free agent who hasn't played for months / years is going to take an age to get up to speed again - negating the whole point really.

He was sacked for making dickish remarks to the press, basically bringing the club into disrepute. He may well learn from his mistakes (he has to if he wants to be employable) but he doesn't sound like the sort of character we'd want around the club!

Yeah, ask him to come back and score the goals for us that he failed to do last time.
