Even Sandy has a girlfriend. In fact he's engaged to be married. The most socially inadequate person I know has a girlfriend. Well obviously he's not the most socially inadequate person I know, because he's actually managed to get a partner.

I'm aware of that - I am his best man, after all.

Not everyone wants or needs a partner - just wish I'd realised that sooner. I'm very happy with the life I've got (earning good money, very relaxed working life, no stress, holiday about every 6-8 weeks), and I don't have any desire to get married or have children, at any stage.

If that makes me socially inadequate in your bitter, narrow-minded view of the world, then that's no bad thing from where I'm sitting.

Well, out of the other people close to me, everyone else is either married already, or like me has no intentions of getting married or re-married, so in a literal sense you're probably right!
