I do think it's a difficult job, yeah. There seems to be a leftover belief that they're still 'big spenders', based on the high wages they paid In non-league in their eagerness to reach the Football League as quick as possible. They've cut back a lot on that - as is evident when you look at their squads (all loans, frees and lower league standard players).
If he gets them playing some good stuff and delivering results, then I guess he may get backed more in the market next summer. But this season looks like best case scenario is just getting them back on track, getting the style of play in place, and pulling away from the relegation battle for a mid table finish.

Come on Robbo you could have done better than Salford FFS. Wonder if he's planning to relocate back to Merseyside? Maybe part of his thinking.

there are several challenges for him, first off being a scouser in peak manc territory. But yes, the bubble might well be bursting and the largesse spending a thing of the past. They dont have a great track record of sticking with managers either I dont think and seem to expect significantly more bang than their buck is funding. Im sure they will be OK this season but they are flirting a bit with relegation also. But mostly its about being a scouser

Like Oxford did? 8-)

He'll try to play good football but he may be limited by what's available to him, squad-wise.
