I know there was talk about Ireland in the past, but a political driver is frankly astonishing.

If Tony "War Mongerer" Blair thought it was a good idea, then it certainly wasn't.

There doesn't seem to be anything about how PW secretly stole the club (from under Blair's nose?) and moved it up here - history has obviously been rewritten.
PW Out.
Long live afc....

Thank God for that, imagine moving a club to Ireland that'd be ridiculous

But a club moved to Milton Keynes and the weather is only slightly warmer there so what’s your point?

Those old fuckers down in Tooting won't like it. The official line is Milton Keynes stole Wimbledon FC from the old Plough Lane ground - you know the one in Wimbledon.

Yes. See my post above.
(See also Lewie's interview (on OS today) when he recalls them playing at Selhurst Park to crowds of two or three hundred.
I'll say that again, PLAYING AT SELHURST PARK TO CROWDS OF 2 OR 3 HUNDRED.
Why was that eh?
Ah the wonderful dedicated, loyal Wimbledon supporters.
Those were the days eh?
Before PW stole the club.

That was after move to MK was announced. What's more relevant that the 1988 FA Cup holders had 2,200 ST the following season at the original Plough Lane (PL). Would also mention the pitiful gates of barely over 3,000 at PL and a Selhurst (long before MK was on the cards. All of course in the top flight.

Nice little picy of Sam Hammam too.
