Well, considering FD's one of the very few on here who've been questioning whether PW should step down, and we are are all just posting how much we love him, then let's hope he doesn't follow all that FD writes. ;)
As he didn't with the choice of manager: complete opposite of an experienced one.
But don't mind if he follows most of the rest of the plan. Just so long as FD's backtracking on the calls that PW's lost it and should step down. He still seems to have it as far as I can see.

I think this appointment of Micciche/Millen/Lewie is Pete's last chance with left field/unconventional appointments.

Of course it isn't. It's his club, he's got as many chances as he wants.

You need to stop thinking that he is immune to supporter pressure, when he clearly isn't as supporter pressure lead to Neilson's dismissal, and lead to him giving a 30 minute video interview to respond to fan concerns a couple of months ago.

If enough people were calling for him to move on, it's in Pete's character to step aside. Not leave the club entirely, but leave the decision making to someone more experienced. Pete isn't the arrogant type and wants to keep supporters onside.

Not going to get into another debate about it, but I think you need to reassess your own views on what managers/owners are capable of - you've clearly got Pete figured out wrong. You were pretty sure he wouldn't sack Neilson until the end of the season, you thought he should have given him longer and that things would turn around but Pete got rid.

You have this idea that managers should be given years, and that Pete knows how to run a club perfectly and can do no wrong - when he has admitted several mistakes in the past. He has some experience now, but he is nowhere near as experienced as most football club chairmen.

At the end of the day, Pete is a very nice charismatic guy, who has a track record of mixed to poor decision making. There will be a time when Pete will step aside either through his own decision or pressured by supporters. If this appointment is a failure, I could see that happening - either he will have had enough himself, or supporters will lose trust. Can you really say that if Pete wasn't a nice guy, or wasn't as friendly/approachable, that fans wouldn't have questioned his suitability by now? It is ignorant to think that supporters have no say at all, as I think the opposite was demonstrated on Saturday evening.

I'm not really debating (here) whether Pete's a nice guy or if he's good at his job. I'm just pointing out that it's his club and he's entitled to run it the way he feels best.

I accept your point about fan pressure. I'm sure it plays a part, although I really dislike it.

I do to some degree. I think what Pete is doing with being a bit more transparent and giving interviews like this do a lot to keep supporters on side. He is clearly a deep thinker who doesn't like to disappoint anyone, and I think that played a part in his reluctance to part ways with Neilson. Sometimes a character like him just needs that bit of a push (like supporter pressure on Saturday) to make a difficult decision.

But yes, sometimes things go too far and he should be making the right decisions himself without unnecessary interference.

People stupid enough to put pressure on pete to sell up dont belong in the mk dons community. Youve gotta be an absolute whopper to call for pete to sell up. Maybe go to coventry for a season, then blackpool for a bit, stop off at leeds, head to newcastle, cross the border to rangers and then come back and tell our special community that pete would be better replaced.

I never suggested he sell up or leave, just step aside whilst remaining on the board and allow someone else with experience to take over the major decision making. But even I'm not at that point yet, just saying if this appointment doesn't work out and we find ourselves at the bottom of League 2 this time next year. I won't be bringing it up again until then!
