Also worth noting that our manager has only been here a few weeks and is only just starting to implement his style. Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, we're going to look like a very different side by next August. Let's cross that bridge when/if we come to it.

Let's leave any sort of discussion about 'how will/might we do in L1' until we get there eh?

why ?
each season as season starts we talk about where we think we are and predict end of season positions.
All I ask is does our team stand up if we were in league one that's all
I don't think we currently do & itll depend on which of our best players are sold and if we get the money to replace
Thats all

Exactly. let's wait until next season. It's all academic otherwise especially at this stage of the season. And , as you say, players will be sold. there's no point.
One game at a time....

Yes it was FA Cup day v Reading but both teams were trying to win, and the worst team in league one just beat us

So if we somehow did get promoted this season, clearly were not good enough to stay up in league one....currently

I do think were close to play-offs but would need a summer strengthening of the team to stay up.

Is this post an attempt at humour? Up there with some of the crazier posts on here. Well played.

We beat a team at the top two of L1 so by your logic we'll automatically go up again next season.

But we also drew to Sutton so we'll probably also go down this season

as someone here said a week ago, Reading is a chance to see how wed be against league one opponents
no different to what i have said after that same game

thats all

lets not have discussions about where wed be .....until it happens

The use of ‘were’ instead of ‘where’ should get this thread closed.

Reading have beaten Bolton, Cheltenham and Stevenage I assume by your logic they are the bottom 3 teams in League One?

Chesterfield have just beaten the top of League 1, which confirms their back to back to back promotion to the Championship in 2026.

It shows Portsmouth are a National League team in the making. :D

Chesterfield and Portsmouth should now immediately swap places, as that’s the fairest and truest solution
