Tbf the rot started under a regime that espoused tippy tappy sideways football, there has to be a way to play a passing direct game!

I would love to see Grayson join but these rumours have just spread from the betting sites. It happens every time for us, where an experienced manager who fits the bill goes straight to the top on the betting sites but we never end up recruiting them.

It's really interesting to see so many on here reminiscing about the MK way and good quality football, and then saying Grayson would be their number one choice. The two things are ipposites!

The Sunderland job was always going to a nightmare, but Grayson was particularly bad.

Really hope it is just bookies talk.

I understand what you are saying but I can't see anyone else as credible except maybe Warburton.

Tbh the our way etc... is great at junior levels where the ethos is about passing flowing Football and style over results - I have seen this first hand and spoken with junior mkdons managers (I run a u15 team) and it’s great to watch BUT we have never really managed to get that into the first team

It’s easier at u12/13/14/15/16 etc as the pool of players is massive and they are free so the scouts come and watch our games and pick those players that can fit that style and can be moulded into ball players

The problem we have is we don’t have a budget to buy those type so unless the whole u18 squad come up and get into first team we have to compromise and that results in what we saw with Robbo 1 dimensional and not good enough to be like that with no plan B

I would take hoof ball for a couple of seasons IF we stayed up and we had a decent finish next year we need a manager with experience and also one with a back room team ready to jump into action - Grayson is in my eyes probably the best suit at this moment he’s also likely to grab a couple of players maybe seasoned pros who can hadle the pressure of a dog fight

Wow my longest post ever - sorry !!!

No facts, just a strong gut feeling - we will NOT be hiring Grayson. I doubt he wants it; I doubt Pete wants him.

Latest Daily Mail article (2 hours ago) says Grayson is being "strongly linked"

I would be happy, he has a very good track record. What we need now is an experienced manager.

I knew you were a daily mail reader, I knew it

Ha ha !

You cannot beat Richard Littlejohn !

I see the leftie Richard Branson has reversed his decision to ban the Mail on his trains.....whether you like the Mail or not, the last thing we want is censorship. And the last thing we want is a nation of Guardian readers

I would like Grayson - purely on his record of 4 promotions from League One.

But like keyser says, I can't see us getting him. He is very much not the type of candidate that PW would look at. I doubt Pete is going to hire someone with a similar style of football to Neilson, as well as being an older manager.

Think Micciche is definitely the type of risk Pete wants to take.

Can Pete afford to take yet another "risk" though ?

RDM was a risk - it worked
Robbo was a risk - it worked
RN was a risk - failed spectacularly

Given we are in a relegation scrap now, surely we need an experienced man in ?
