OK looking at things in the cold light of day it was daylight robbery we won that. No shots of any kind in the second half. However, that is what happens in League 2. If you think its bad for us then look on their forum and how pissed off they are with their opening two games. This was a reality check that we needed after the demolition of Hollywood FC. It is clear now that we are not the finished article, which we all knew anyway. I just hope in the next two weeks loans come in as I don't think we will sign anymore permanently. That being said if last seasons squad were playing that game we would have drew at best. It was Gilbeys pin point cross that was *chefs kiss*. Oh and Eisa scoring with his head. I didn't think he had it in him. 2 goals in 2 games. Long may it continue and doubt those haters wrong.

If we got 6 points out of it then hell yes. We have to learn to walk again after losing the use of our limbs as it were. Winning in an entertaining fashion is great and all but remember the fact that we only won 4 home games all season last season which is why we were relegated. The fact we have our first one on the first match is great for me and will boost confidence that was for some reason lacking at home.

Performances - no way. Perform like that last season against Barnsley and they would have battered us 7-0 or more. Burton also beat us if we perform like that.

Now would we have taken shithousing our way to 1-0 wins? Absolutely.

But it’s the start of a new season and at this point performances do matter. If we had battered Tranmere all game and created plenty of chances but didn’t managed to score them and only drew the game we would probably be mildly disappointed but full off confidence that over the season we will be better than the majority of sides. But right now it feels the opposite, there wasn’t any positive signs in the second half.

Still there is plenty of time to improve and we have 6 points so it’s hardly a bad place to be in.

If buts and maybes. Barnsley could've had an off day had we played a different style. They didn't, but we didn't help ourselves. I'd have taken it because points matter more than anything

Results are what matters. Plenty of teams over the years have played some decent stuff whilst heading for and subsequently being relegated and pragmatic none too pretty to watch stuff has won cups and promotions. Neither is mutually exclusive and sometimes exquisite football wins and sometimes it doesnt. Largely I would wager its based on quality of players rather than intrisic systems.

Im not too sure if you saw much of Luton last season for instance but it wasnt silky football that got them where they are.

I will take ugly wins over pretty draws and loses all day every day. Its only when consistent ugly loses mount up that that particular question becomes worth asking.

You must have been texting like Lewie in the 2nd half or asleep

If come the end of the season we are in the promotion mix then nobody will remember or care about this game. If we are at the other end of the situation, it wont be this game thats remembered but the one where we play really well but lose or where we are as bad as the second half all game and get thumped.

Why? Because I enjoy winning games?

Each to their own. I'm glad we won, but I have definitely enjoyed other wins more.
