He's got the best name in League 2. Fact.

I feel Newport's 21 year old left-sided winger Phil Pumpernickel Jr would have something to say about that.

Phil is tedious. Great surname but his Christian name goes against him. PS wins by a mile.

I don't think it's a better name but Harry Beautyman (Sutton) can't have "had it easy" at school....Just sayin'.

Just on the subject of names in our academy, does anyone know if Charlie Stirland is related to Mel? One for the teenagers, there.

It hadn’t crossed my mind until I heard him speak in an interview last week. Definitely a Yorkshire lad.

I’m pretty sure he’s Middlesbrough right?

I wouldn’t think so - Mel was a Sterland, not a Stirland.

PS is a defender.

Although he replaced Eisa, he was probably bought on ahead on Devoy, Ilunga, etc to sure up the centre of the park.

I thought he did ok, and the run he made for the last goal helped open up the space for Harvie to score.

Still think it was an odd decision. He seemed very nervy when he came on (understandably so) and his first touch went straight out for a throw.

Devoy would have been a safer option. Contrary to what he said in his interview, but maybe he knew the game was done and wanted to give PS some minutes?

Ah, I should have looked him up properly.

Dunno why a 1980's Division One stalwart popped into my head when I saw Charlie's interview.
