Have I missed something or has Scholtz signed a pro contract?

I know he was involved in pre-season a bit, but so have a few other academy players (e.g. Tripp).

Squad number 25 - that's lower than Ronnie Sandford (no 31) and Charlie Waller (no 35) who have already signed pro deals, which suggests he's more likely to be involved (I know you can't read too much into squad numbers but I think you can with recent academy graduates).

The fact GA brings him on today ahead of Anker who impressed in the last PSF, as well as ahead of the likes of Holland, Devoy and Ilunga says a lot.

In other news - I'm assuming Sandford is off somewhere as his picture has gone from the first team page completely, whilst Scholtz's name has been added.

He's got the best name in League 2. Fact.

I feel Newport's 21 year old left-sided winger Phil Pumpernickel Jr would have something to say about that.

Yeah, real surprise to see him come on ahead of some of the other players, especially Anker and Devoy.

His name has come a bit out of no where really and the one we all thought was going to be out next big thing, Tripp, seems to have dropped down the pecking order slightly when it comes to academy players.

I suspect the rumours about Holland are true, as if he wasn't leaving, he'd have come on instead of Scholtz. Devoy isn't really an attack minded player either, but thought he may have been the more obvious choice to come on.

Phil is tedious. Great surname but his Christian name goes against him. PS wins by a mile.

What about David Goodwillie? Or Badwillie as it should be after his court case.

PS is a defender.

Although he replaced Eisa, he was probably bought on ahead on Devoy, Ilunga, etc to sure up the centre of the park.

I thought he did ok, and the run he made for the last goal helped open up the space for Harvie to score.
