This is too important to be relegated to Dons Departures.
I imagine most of us were, if not suspecting, then aware of some of the troubles Dele has, however this interview with Gary Neville is essential viewing:

It's a shame, he seems to be in a very dark place these days - with his career and private life.

That's not what I took from that at all - he WAS in a very bad place (for very understandable reasons!) but is now in much better shape.

That was a very moving interview.

Just reading the reporting of it now. Jesus Christ.

This is exactly as I took it, IF he is as he portrays himself now (with mental health you never can tell) then he appears to be on the road to recovery.

Also interesting about the famous Mourinho 'lazy' interview, basically saying that José had admitted he was wrong and apologised to him after seeing him train. Obviously Amazon decided decided that shouldn't make the cut

This. He says it himself at the start mentally he's the best he's ever felt.

I think he's made a good decision giving this interview, answers a lot of questions and deals with speculation.

I agree that he is hopefully coming out of a bad space and will confide with the Hickfords and other people he trusts. Whatever happens football wise, if he is at terms of where he is as a person, he will have succeeded in the journey he taken in rehab. I wish him the best.

Wow. That was a tough watch.

The most important thing is that he's on the road to recovery, and it's incredibly brave of him to come and out and tell his story. He will have earned nothing but respect from the world of football for doing that.

I always liked to think that we, as Dons fans, knew Dele from the very start, but it really hits home how much he went through before he even broke into our first team. It's a remarkable story in itself that he came through such a difficult upbringing and gone on to achieve what he has.

What’s being said? What’s the general tone?

Honestly so proud that Dele is associated with MK Dons. Given what he has been through it’s a testament to him as a person that he was able to make it to such a high level of football. I’m glad he has got help and is doing well. I wish him the best for his health and happiness.
