THE CONCRETE ROUNDABOUT (TCR)

It does appear that we have seen more referees struggling to keep up this season than previously. In fairness, it must be really hard to keep up with the game for ninety minutes, but I'd have assumed refs on the whole would be getting fitter rather than the other way round?

Today was the first time that I’ve seen the “you’re not fit to referee” be literally true.

Amateur refs at this level, it’s about time we had full time pro’s rather than the doughnut munching part timers

Ha! I said this at the match too. I am no male model, but he was a disgrace today.

League 1 and 2 refs are part time paid 150 per game. You do the maths

The ref today was carrying some timber. In fairness though it is only january, dare say he'd been knee deep in pigs in blankets like the best of us over christmas. Give him a few weeks to gel, judge him in about 8 to 10 games

I don’t think he was as bad as some are making out. He had the game well run. And sent Aneke off deservedly?
