Surely this is perfect for him! Not saying he couldn't do another season in League One but he's definitely capable of League Two.

Break the all-time appearance record for a single club, another couple of wins over them lot, finish with promotion just before his 40th birthday.

I don’t think he would regard relegation as perfect

Surely Lewie for manager ? (With maybe one season as player/manager!)

Pete has given many young managers a chance (and fair play to Pete for that by the way) - so why not now the obvious?

Lewie is THE club legend
Loved by the fans
Loved by Pete
Knows the club only second to Pete himself
The players will respect him
Seems to have all the attributes for being a manager eg communication, desire to win etc
And what better place to start than L2?

Also doesn't like management so is a great choice.
