Credit to all of those who travelled. The noise and backing I could hear on iFollow was superb, and well done to those who backed the team until the end. I saw a few wanker signs but the majority clapped the effort, those lads really gave it a good go. Sadly it wasn't enough.

Football is a never ending rollercoasting, this is just another low. League Two is another stop, just like the Championship was. It happens.

We've had lows, but one thing that has changed in recent years is the backing of the club. I spent many away games in the late 00's early 2010's where it was largely a bunch of pensioners and a few college students sat quietly, sometimes only 100 of us. Gone are those days. Well done to DonsAction and MKDSA for pushing this fanbase the past couple of seasons.

We will hopefully learn from mistakes, we will rebuild. We will go again. Up the fucking franchise.

Not sure about the ‘learning’.

Never seems enough of it here.

We didn’t learn from the mistakes from when we last got relegated to league 2

What exactly were the mistakes?

We've completely changed our approach to having a broader recruitment philosophy using a data driven approach rather than a single manager making decisions. We've spent significant fees on the playing squad. We stuck with a coach with a similar philosophy rather than chopping and changing like we did last time. The only similarity is hiring an inexperienced manager to improve results. But we hired young inexperienced managers with much success in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2019 and 2021....

Hiring an inexperienced manager in his first job in a relegation battle is quite a big one

Risk averse financial decisions risk seeking football decisions.

Clapping the players off for their effort papers over the cracks. That was a good performance but the season is what I'm concerned with.

Under Russ we lost 7 out of 19, 6 of those were to promotion/play off chasing teams.
We stayed up on points per game which was 1.06. Under Tisdale it was 0.8. Under Russ it was 1.26.
This myth that we stayed up due to the season ending is utter garbage.
