Oxford have probably brought forward the sacking of their manager because they have seen us linked with a few 'big' names and probably want to have a go at getting someone like Grayson or Warburton themselves.

I was thinking the same thing, do they have enough cash anyone know? Rich owner?

The impression I get is that they are in a similar bracket to us in terms of budget, definitely not bottom end of the league, but probably not in the top tier either.

They are clearly keen to get Robbie and the team now they are available.

No, but a huge blow. Presumably same will happen with most other proven managers.
Edging closer to the usual young and cheap choice.
Oh well, whoever they appoint I will back and won't be starting campaigns for them to go. Just would be nice if we'd take ability and competency into account more so than date of birth and cheapness.

BTW: Michael O'Neill has pulled out of talks with Scotland just as we're looking for a manager. Coincidence? Yes.

Until this is from the horses mouth, I take it with a pinch of salt, surely the past six months has taught all of us that. If Pete has the same ambition his mouth always says he does then maybe he needs to up the sakes in terms of recruiting a manager at least. I am not saying bankrupt us, but hopefully he has learnt that cheap doesn't always mean results.

Isn’t he negotiating a better deal with NI?

I have had a look on SkyBet a couple of times this morning...

Karl Robinson has gone from the bottom of the list 16/1 to favourite at 4/1....Maybe some developments there.

I personally would welcome this, he knows the club inside out, would bring some much needed confidence back in to the team and of course would engage with the fans. I appreciate this would be controversial with a lot of fans, but I cant see a better fit, especially when you consider the philosophy Winkelman seeks.

There may be something in this. I believe he still lives local, and despite Charlton clearly doing well on the pitch, the behind the scenes issues are clearly documented.

Time will tell..

(By the way, long time viewer, first time poster!!)

It's not going to happen, but I would have Karl back in a blink!
