Its strange isnt it but reading the Cambridge forums they seem seem extremely confident of staying up. Ive been thr first to say about their run in but lets not forget they still have to secure important points in the pressure of a relegation battle. With the goal difference as it is, we just have to ensure we either match or better their results in the last two and will stay up. As for Oxford, I havent read their forums but am i right in thinking they havent won a game since manning took charge, and yet we seem to think they will suddenly win 3 on the bounce. I get the standard of opposition but the circumstances count for alot. As weve shown ( unfortunately in the negative sense) you still have to turn up to beat these teams. It just makes me wonder why we lack so little confidence in saving ourselves, compared to all the other relegation contenders. Not saying i dont also feel an impending sense of doom but why, when currently survival is still in our own hands, do we seem to be the lowest of all the fanbases.

Does anybody remember the final month of the League 2 season in 2018/19?

Week after week we convinced ourselves the promotion push was over, culminating in a dreadful afternoon at Colchester. What kept us alive was that other results didn’t go the way we thought they would and we stayed alive all the way to that final game against Mansfield at Le Stade MK.

Point being, that we can’t be sure that other teams will win the games we think they will. There is actually a scenario in all of this that the 43 points we have will be enough. It’s not very likely but it is still possible that we will escape.
