If Lewington plays through next season, does he get another testimonial?

There can't be many players still playing nine years after having one.

I know you helped the last one, but it was a shambles. Utter embarrassment.

He deserves better. Unfortunately, nobody is turning out for Dean Lewingtons testimonial in pre season.

I didn't say it was going to be any good.

And yes, the first one was crap. Didn't help that Club Red/Ballroom was closed for an Indian wedding and half the ground smelt of tikka. There's a large sewage pipe that leads towards and sort of through the kit room. The smell that weekend was unbelievable. So bad that it couldn't be blamed on Tony as per.

Just wondering if he still gets another one.

I know, just stating that it was so shit the first time we can pretend it didn't happen and do it again.

And our fanbase is so transient there's probably only about 300 people who still go now who went to the first one.

You, of which, aren't one of them.

Pretty much. Although I am (somewhat controversially) going to Fleetwood.

This is moderately disturbing. I had exactly the same thought yesterday afternoon; should Lewie have another testimonial? When? And what a nonsense the last one was... :o

Someone, somewhere must have written something that triggered a similar line of thought.

Was there a reason that the first one was against Forest, or was it just shoehorned into a pre-existing friendly?

The latter seems more on brand for us, but I didn't know if there was any connection beyond the schedule.

Shoehorned into a friendly, because everyone (rightly) realised that nobody would turn up for a testimonial on its own.
