With it still looking like the relegation spots being taken by 4 of the bottom 6, a handy guide has been posted on 1FF showing all of the clubs remaining fixtures, and the mathematical predictions for safety. I'll link the post from that forum because I have no idea how to add pictures in, but if anyone wants to reply with the attachment then that would be very helpful.

Judging by whatever maths has been implemented, it looks like we're already safe based on the last 6 games (39 points for survival), we need a draw based on the last 10 (41 points for survival), and a win based on PPG (43 points for survival).

FGR are basically down already, and Cambridge probably need to win their last 3 games to be in with a shot as they look favourable. I wouldn't want to have Morecambe's run in either...

Really interesting, thanks!

Stats wise, isn't Morecambe's the easier run in? Their opponents have the lowest average points per game than the opponents of the other relegation rivals. Either way, all their games are still difficult and they've played a game more, so I think they're going to really struggle.

Its reassuring to see that when we play Derby, all the other teams except for Oxford have hard games too.

Regarding points required to stay up, over the last 10 years (excluding the season cut short by Covid), the average number of points required to stay up (and not relying on goal difference) has been 48.4. The lowest has been 41 points (last season) and the highest has been 51.

Worth keeping an eye on Burton Albion on the run in.

They have nine games left, but five of them are against Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley, Derby, Bolton and Plymouth. That looks really tough.
