I said that if we are to go down, so long as we go down fighting that's all I care about and we are fighting like our lives depend on it. I do think we have one foot in league one as really now it is one place between Accrington Oxford us and maybe Burton. Is it simply the Lewie factor? The fact that they are more alert. The self belief that was lacking before christmas? A mix of all three? Before Christmas if we had gone 2-1 down after leading our heads would have dropped and we would have lost today. The change in the past month is crazy.

Our heads did drop today. We were a complete mess after they scored their first goal. We do however look more resolute in defence, although we still conceded two goals today. Defensively though, I thought Wycombe looked really poor and their goalkeeper was far from assured.

The 3 wins in a row certainly gave us confidence but my feet will remain firmly on the ground. We’ve played a game more than the two teams behind us. Things could look very different come Friday evening.

Confidence has been rising and must be high.
Score first and then come back from 2-1 down.
Very good result. :ugeek:

The three January signings have made such a difference. Maybe Sweeting isn’t so bad, after all.

Granted, although that's because he's dropped his doctrine of only buying promising youngsters or over the hill has beens. I suspect Pete has released a bit of dosh to sign players like Stewart and Kaikai.

In a word - mentality, of the manager and the team.

Bristol Rovers at home in October was a landmark for me - no management vision to win and the players were bullied all over the pitch.

Yesterday was very different.

We are doing the basics a lot better and have simplified our game a lot. I think the lads are a lot more clear on what their roles and responsibilities are and there's less grey areas. Lewington coming back has been huge. Don't get me wrong, I would like to see us get back to our possession based style, but at this moment in time, survival at all costs.

Coincidence or causality? You decide folks. 8-)

Jackson seems a good foundational coach. All he talks about are behaviours and responsibilities. I quite like him and he’s probably a manager players like to play for. This is League One - we are in the shit and frankly it’s a breath of fresh air to see a manager refuse to overcomplicate the simple job of scrapping like fuck at the bottom of the league.
