Wow - don't think I've ever seen it that consistently so.

If we were to remain consistent with the overall season form, our results would look something like the below -

Wycombe - L
Portsmouth - L
Derby - L
Cheltenham - W
Charlton - D
Fleetwood - D
Barnsley - L
Burton - W

That would leave us on 47 points. Although that would have been enough to secure survival last season, 47 points would see us relegated for the 10 seasons prior to last year (excluding the covid one). God knows what happened last season, the bottom 4 must have been horrifically bad.

Assuming we do beat Cheltenham and Burton, as well as drawing with Charlton & Fleetwood, we'll need to pick up another win from somewhere. I think we need 50 points total, so 11 points from the remaining games.

This is why we are where we are...we can't buy a win against the teams in the top half of the table yet we are beating all around us.

You'd expect that from a Premier League club fighting against relegation, and the uplift in quality as you go up the table. It does go to show that when it comes to battling for the 6-pointers we've done very well, which should keep us up.

Barnsley could easily have cemented a play off place and have nothing to play for by time they visit

If you lived in Barnsley, just about any spark of....something....anything.....could lift your existence - so fair play to 'em if they did. :ugeek:

I could see us getting a point from either Wycombe or Portsmouth.
That would leave Acct to get 13/14 points from 8 matches. That's quite a big upturn for them

Its easy to forget that teams down here, unlike our rivals for promotion last season average less than 1 point per game. So from 8 games its highly unlikely any team around us, including ourselves will return 13/14 points. We may well find ourselves safe with 5 more points which would mean accy need 3 wins, hard to see where they come from as is the case with Oxford who haven't won in their last 11+ games. Having said that ghe more points we can get on the board the better, to assure safety asap. If we can maintain a 2 game cushion in points it would be excellent! Hopefully we can hold onto or extend that 4 point gap.

Very excited for the wycombe game, the players should bd buoyed by recent results and we can go their with a bit of confidence now against a team finding their wag without their long serving manager. Big opportunity for a narrow win or a draw at the weekend and right now every dingle point is important. Id take any sort of positive point in any remaining game. Anything tk come away sith something to add tk the tally.

FGR beating Wednesday highlighted how anything can happen. I thought both Morecambe and Accrington played some decent football at times too.

Accrington have home games with Port Vale, Fleetwood and Cambridge. There is a significant chance they'll win these.

They're not playing this weekend though, so if we can pick up another win, it'll put serious pressure on them.

Accrington would have to get more points than us cause after the hammering Exeter gave them they are now on -33 we are on -20. Unless we get some thumpings then that's an "extra point" as they say

Didn't do it for very much time though! :D
