Given how successful Mitchell has become, it's a shame, and a bit odd, that he left no real legacy here in terms of recruitment strategy/infrastructure. I'm sure I read an Athletic article that mentioned his use of data in recruitment with us. Bit of a sliding doors moment perhaps that we didn't fully commit to that approach in its infancy.

I just think that anyone with 'something about them' can develop themselves better elsewhere.

One of my previous employers was big on "enabling employees to be the best they can be" as part of its HR manifesto.
