You're never going to be convinced and you can throw stats out of your arse if you have to but I'm one of many people who isnt arsed by stats because stats don't cover everything and can often be misleading....

Let's not forget the two managers after him hardly did great bits with what they were working with either....
You can ignore / dismiss stats all you want, but it doesn't make them any less true.
Here's more inconvenient truth:

October 2016: MK Dons finally sack Robinson
Robinson's last 8 league games:
P8 W2 D2 L4 F11 A13 GD-2 Pts8 - dropped from 15th to 19th - 1.0ppg - relegation form...

December 2016: MK Dons finally appoint Neilson.
Neilson's first 8 league games:
P8 W4 D2 L2 F14 A8 GD+6 Pts14 - climbed from 19th to 15th - 1.75ppg - playoffs form...

With the same Robinson squad FFS...

May 2017: Even Neilson FFS did better than Robinson, with the same squad and MK Dons finish top half of the table in 12th.

League tables are stats FFS, and they don't lie.

And I've said b3fore that managers have a sell by date, and that's fine. He got his.

Worked out well for Neilson by the end didn't it? We can sit here and say how we'll that season "was" but I as many others will back up who went to games home and away that season saw troubling signs... despite those troubling signs I tried to stay positive because I saw a good manager there from his time in Scotland - but as much as we say now that the situation at the club is far greater than any head coach, Manning or Jackson, the same can be applied to Robinson.
He had been dealt a dreadful hand in two of the previous three transfer windows, and by the time we kicked a ball in L1 again he deserved his shot at giving it another go. It didn't work out and it was the right time to part ways. There was a squad in there, that I think he'd have eventually got a hand of, Neilson eventually did. I don't think we'd have crashed as badly as we did with Neilson under KR.

You've obviously got some weird personal vendetta against him because you have been doing this nerdy stat throwing thing out at everyone for years, and that's fine. I can throw stats about a lot of things to create an argument for things I don't even believe in... I could argue forever that the Chelsea side under Mourinho are greater than the Invincibles before them. I can argue that Marcus Rashford is the greatest player in Europe. Context is everything and you've been anti Robinson since I joined the forum in 2012. Nothing will change that and its fine but if stats are your only argument then I despair.

Stats wise, we were brilliant against Lincoln. We all watched the game...

And you've been pro-Robinson since you joined the forum in 2012.
Nothing will change that, and that's fine, but if you choose to ignore reality, then I despair.
We'll have to continue to disagree on Robinson.

What do you think the answer to MK Dons' managerial/head coach debate going forward?

What do you think the answer to MK Dons' managerial/head coach debate going forward?
Ah, to that question.
I think the DoF & Head Coach approach is fundamentally the right one.
It minimises the effects we've seen of managers bad recruitment / conflicts of interest where they sign players they may also represent for the agents fees etc. etc.
However, when the player budget is inadequate and/or the recruitment with that budget is poor, then I don't think it makes much difference who the Head Coach is, as we've seen this season.
The directors & Sweeting have some serious questions to answer about the decisions they've made this season - it's been a total disaster both on & off the pitch.
I don't know what the answer is going forward, but I'm sure that it isn't bringing back Robinson as manager next season, whatever league we're in.

Whilst we are at it, I'm sure we could tempt Neilson south of the border again
And he'd do better than Robinson given the same squad again
And then destroy it, sign his players, play his style of football and make us significantly worse...
Indeed, hence why Sweeting was put in place to try and prevent all that bad stuff with him & other managers ever happening again.
Which is ok until Sweeting recruits a load of turds for the Head Coach to polish.
However, as bad as Neilson was, he still did much better than Robinson did with the same squad

He did, there is no denying that during the 2016/17 season Neilson's results were better. You can throw in as many ifs, but, maybes and reasonable contributing factors - dealing with a dressing room after relegation, new manager bounce, the return of Chuks Aneke as soon as Neilson arrives. But overall Robinson had a higher win percentage and got us promotion from League One.

As bad as Robinson was for a few months in League One, he still did much better than Neilson did.

I do agree with almost all of this. I'm not sure if Robinson is the answer, nobody ever knows what is at this level, but I definitely feel like he should be in consideration if we do go down

It looks like Robbo is going to be Sam Allardyce’s assistant at Leeds

Thought so, when I heard him on Allardyce's pod he hinted at Sam taking him with him should he get a job.

I think it's actually wise for Karl, even for a month, to learn something new without being the manager. He said things have passed him by in terms of terminology and stats/data based analysis. He'll learn a lot from that kinda atmosphere and running some drills with other coaches at a better training centre, even just for a month.
