You're never going to be convinced and you can throw stats out of your arse if you have to but I'm one of many people who isnt arsed by stats because stats don't cover everything and can often be misleading....
Let's not forget the two managers after him hardly did great bits with what they were working with either....
You can ignore / dismiss stats all you want, but it doesn't make them any less
true.
Here's more inconvenient truth:
October 2016: MK Dons finally sack Robinson
Robinson's last 8 league games:
P8 W2 D2 L4 F11 A13 GD-2 Pts8 - dropped from 15th to 19th - 1.0ppg - relegation form...
December 2016: MK Dons finally appoint Neilson.
Neilson's first 8 league games:
P8 W4 D2 L2 F14 A8 GD+6 Pts14 - climbed from 19th to 15th - 1.75ppg - playoffs form...
With the same Robinson squad FFS...May 2017:
Even Neilson FFS did better than Robinson, with the same squad and MK Dons finish top half of the table in 12th.
League tables are
stats FFS, and they don't lie.
And I've said b3fore that managers have a sell by date, and that's fine. He got his.
Worked out well for Neilson by the end didn't it? We can sit here and say how we'll that season "was" but I as many others will back up who went to games home and away that season saw troubling signs... despite those troubling signs I tried to stay positive because I saw a good manager there from his time in Scotland - but as much as we say now that the situation at the club is far greater than any head coach, Manning or Jackson, the same can be applied to Robinson.
He had been dealt a dreadful hand in two of the previous three transfer windows, and by the time we kicked a ball in L1 again he deserved his shot at giving it another go. It didn't work out and it was the right time to part ways. There was a squad in there, that I think he'd have eventually got a hand of, Neilson eventually did. I don't think we'd have crashed as badly as we did with Neilson under KR.
You've obviously got some weird personal vendetta against him because you have been doing this nerdy stat throwing thing out at everyone for years, and that's fine. I can throw stats about a lot of things to create an argument for things I don't even believe in... I could argue forever that the Chelsea side under Mourinho are greater than the Invincibles before them. I can argue that Marcus Rashford is the greatest player in Europe. Context is everything and you've been anti Robinson since I joined the forum in 2012. Nothing will change that and its fine but if stats are your only argument then I despair.
Stats wise, we were brilliant against Lincoln. We all watched the game...
